I recently found Securstick<\/a> which encrypts a folder on a USB stick and supports Linux, MacOS and Windows.<\/p>\n

The application runs from the USB stick and opens a browser where you type the password to decrypt the contents. Unfortunately the application would not run from my USB disk on Pop!_OS<\/a> but i found this post<\/a> and followed the steps from the user GopherBaroque which resolved the issue for me. Just in case the steps are also below:<\/p>\n

  1. Open your terminal<\/li>\n
  2. Determine the UUID of the drives with the command “sudo blkid<\/strong><\/em>“<\/li>\n
  3. Create a mount point using the command “sudo mkdir \/ media \/ USB-Stick<\/strong><\/em>“<\/li>\n
  4. Enter the stick in the fstab with “sudo nano \/ etc \/ fstab<\/strong><\/em>“<\/li>\n
  5. Expand the fstab file with the following line:<\/li>\n
  6. UUID=3D72-8344 \/media\/USB-Stick vfat defaults,users,noauto,exec,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0<\/li>\n
  7. Instead of “3D72-8344” insert the appropriate UUID of the respective stick<\/li>\n
  8. Reboot<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
