{"id":526,"date":"2020-06-03T19:23:49","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T17:23:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/?p=526"},"modified":"2020-06-03T19:23:49","modified_gmt":"2020-06-03T17:23:49","slug":"open-media-vault-admin-site-not-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/?p=526","title":{"rendered":"Open Media Vault admin site not working"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>I have a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Network-attached_storage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NAS<\/a> running <a href=\"https:\/\/www.openmediavault.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Open Media Vault<\/a> (OMV) and this week it decided to not display the web front end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When browsing to <strong>http:\/\/omvIPaddress<\/strong> I received the below error:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>OMV\\Exception: Failed to read file &#8216;\/var\/cache\/openmediavault\/cache.omv\\controlpanel\\login_js.json&#8217; (size=0). in \/usr\/share\/php\/openmediavault\/json\/file.inc:207<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>To resolve the issue I connected to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Network-attached_storage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NAS<\/a> using secure shell:<\/p>\n<p>ssh <strong>root@ipaddressOfYourNAS<\/strong> and supplied the root password<br \/>After authenticating and connecting I ran <strong><em>omv-aptclean <\/em><\/strong>and rebooted the server for good measure.<\/p>\n<p>I was able to access the web front end again after running <em>omv-aptclean<\/em> as per above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"506\" src=\"http:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/omv-1024x506.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-532\" srcset=\"https:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/omv-1024x506.png 1024w, https:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/omv-300x148.png 300w, https:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/omv-768x379.png 768w, https:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/omv-1536x758.png 1536w, https:\/\/exchangetimes.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/omv.png 1910w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I have a NAS running Open Media Vault (OMV) and this week it decided to not display the web front end.
